Rumors of a Anjo Meu reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Friday (April 19) as reports claimed that TVI confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2025.

Can you believe it's been 13 years since Anjo Meu first aired?! (13 years, 1 month, to be exact.)
Why in the world did Anjo Meu end?
When Anjo Meu came to an end after 2 years in May 2012, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Joana Rita Saragoça Saraiva (Alexandra Lencastre) and Eva Rebelo da Cunha (Sara Matos). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would an Anjo Meu reunion disappoint people?
Anjo Meu aired from 2011-2012 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Matos said she's not sure if Anjo Meu would work today. “I don't want to see old Eva Rebelo da Cunha,” she told a journalist (Matos turned 34 in December). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” she added.
Still hoping for an Anjo Meu movie?
In a recent interview, Sara Matos said she can't imagine an Anjo Meu reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
Co-star Pedro Teixeira (who played Matias Saragoça Saraiva) has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did an Anjo Meu movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”
On the subject of whether there could be an Anjo Meu film, Alexandra Lencastre stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”
What about an Anjo Meu reboot?
Recasting Anjo Meu for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
Be it in the form of an Anjo Meu reunion, an Anjo Meu movie, or an Anjo Meu reboot, if you had to start filming today, who would you cast in what role?
