Rumors of a As the World Turns reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Wednesday (April 17) as reports claimed that CBS confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2025.

Why in the world did As the World Turns end?
When As the World Turns came to an end after 55 years in September 2010, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to their favorite sitcom characters. And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would an As the World Turns reunion disappoint people?
As the World Turns aired from 1956-2010 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules.
Still hoping for an As the World Turns movie?
In a recent interview, Tom Pelphrey (who played Mick Dante between 2009 and 2010) said he can't imagine an As the World Turns reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
Co-star Zach Roerig (who played Casey Hughes between 2005 and 2007) has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did an As the World Turns movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”
On the subject of whether there could be an As the World Turns film, Kristen Connolly stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”

Recasting As the World Turns for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
