Rumors of a Sex and the City reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Friday (April 19) as reports claimed that HBO confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2025.

Can you believe it's been 25 years since Sex and the City first aired?! (25 years, 10 months, 14 days to be exact.)
Why in the world did Sex and the City end?
When Sex and the City came to an end after 6 years in February 2004, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to their favorite sitcom characters. And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would a Sex and the City reunion disappoint people?
Sex and the City aired from 1998-2004 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules.
Still hoping for a Sex and the City movie?
In a recent interview, Ron Livingston (who played Jack Berger between 2002 and 2003) said he can't imagine a Sex and the City reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
Co-star John Corbett (who played Jack Berger) has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a Sex and the City movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”
On the subject of whether there could be a Sex and the City film, Sarah Jessica Parker stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”
What about a Sex and the City reboot?
Recasting Sex and the City for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
