It has been exactly 56 long years since El Che Che Guevara died in La Higuera on October 9, 1967 at the age of 39. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed revolutionaries of his generation.

Guevara, a cultural icon

Born Ernesto Rafael Guevara de la Serna in Rosario de Santa Fe on June 14, 1928, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in Argentine history. Guevara was not just a great revolutionary, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
