It has been exactly 3 long years since Chick Corea died in Tampa on February 9, 2021 at the age of 79. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation.
Today, fans of Chick Corea (Spain, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.
Corea, a cultural icon
Born Armando Anthony Corea in Chelsea on June 12, 1941, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Corea was not just a great pianist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1971 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Spain’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
It's been 3 years since the tragic loss of Chick Corea and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Chick Corea is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
