Remembering Georges Descrières, 10 Years Later

It has been exactly 10 long years since Georges Descrières died in Cannes on October 19, 2013 at the age of 83. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Today, fans of Georges Descrières (Arsène Lupin, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Descrières, a cultural icon

Born Georges René Bergé in Bordeaux on April 15, 1930, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Descrières was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1971 he touched the hearts of millions as Arsène Lupin in ‘Arsène Lupin’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.

It's been 10 years since the tragic loss of Georges Descrières and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Georges Descrières is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
