Remembering Jacques Higelin, 6 Years Later

It has been exactly 6 long years since Jacques Higelin died in Paris on April 6, 2018 at the age of 77. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Today, fans of Jacques Higelin (Tombé du ciel, Champagne, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Higelin, a cultural icon

Born in Brou-sur-Chantereine on October 18, 1940, Jacques Higelin's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Higelin was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1988 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Tombé du ciel’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been 6 years since the tragic loss of Jacques Higelin and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Jacques Higelin is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
