Remembering Jerry Lee Lewis, One Year Later

It has been exactly one year since The Killer Jerry Lee Lewis died in DeSoto County on October 28, 2022 at the age of 87. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Today, fans of Jerry Lee Lewis (Great Balls of Fire, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Lewis, a cultural icon

Born in Ferriday on September 29, 1935, Jerry Lee Lewis' career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Lewis was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1957 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Great Balls of Fire’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been one year since the tragic loss of Jerry Lee Lewis and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Jerry Lee Lewis is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
