It has been exactly 6 long years since John Heard died in Palo Alto on July 21, 2017 at the age of 72. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Heard, a cultural icon

Born in Washington, D.C. on March 7, 1945, John Heard's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Heard was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1990 he touched the hearts of millions as Peter McCallister in ‘Home Alone’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
