It has been exactly 20 long years since Johnny Cash died in Nashville on September 12, 2003 at the age of 71. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Born in Kingsland on February 26, 1932, Johnny Cash's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Cash was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1956 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘I Walk the Line’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
