Remembering Kathryn Joosten, 11 Years Later

It has been exactly 11 long years since Kathryn Joosten died in Westlake Village on June 2, 2012 at the age of 72. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Today, fans of Kathryn Joosten (Desperate Housewives, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Joosten, a cultural icon

Born in Eustis on December 20, 1939, Kathryn Joosten's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Joosten was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 2004 she touched the hearts of millions as Karen McCluskey in ‘Desperate Housewives’. Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.

It's been 11 years since the tragic loss of Kathryn Joosten and her personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Kathryn Joosten is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
