Remembering Lou Reed on the 10th Anniversary of his death

It has been exactly 10 long years since Lou Reed died in Southampton on October 27, 2013 at the age of 71. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Today, fans of Lou Reed (Walk on the Wild Side, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Reed, a cultural icon

Born Lewis Allan Reed in New York on March 2, 1942, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Reed was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1972 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Walk on the Wild Side’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been 10 years since the tragic loss of Lou Reed and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Lou Reed is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
