It has been exactly 9 long years since Roger Hanin died in Paris on February 11, 2015 at the age of 89. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Hanin, a cultural icon

Born Roger Jacob Lévy in Algiers on October 20, 1925, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Hanin was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1989 he touched the hearts of millions as Commissaire Navarro in ‘Navarro’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
