‘13 Reasons Why’ Reunion 2027 — Is It Happening?

Rumors of a 13 Reasons Why reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Friday (March 20) as reports claimed that Netflix confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2027.

Can you believe it's been 8 years since 13 Reasons Why first aired?! (8 years, 11 months, 18 days to be exact.)

Why in the world did 13 Reasons Why end?

When 13 Reasons Why came to an end after 4 years in June 2020, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Jessica Davis (Alisha Boe), Justin Foley (Brandon Flynn), Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), Olivia Baker (Kate Walsh) and Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.

Would a 13 Reasons Why reunion disappoint people?

13 Reasons Why aired from 2017-2020 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Boe said she's not sure if 13 Reasons Why would work today. “I don't want to see old Jessica Davis,” she told a journalist (Boe turned 29 in March). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” she added.

Still hoping for a 13 Reasons Why movie?

In a recent interview, Wilson Cruz (who played Dennis Vasquez) said he can't imagine a 13 Reasons Why reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Katherine Langford has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a 13 Reasons Why movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

On the subject of whether there could be a 13 Reasons Why film, Kate Walsh stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”

What about a 13 Reasons Why reboot?

Recasting 13 Reasons Why for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
