Rumors of a 77 Sunset Strip reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Tuesday (April 23) as reports claimed that producers confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2025.

Why in the world did 77 Sunset Strip end?
When 77 Sunset Strip came to an end after 6 years in February 1964, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Stuart Bailey (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would a 77 Sunset Strip reunion disappoint people?
77 Sunset Strip aired from 1958-1964 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Zimbalist Jr. said he's not sure if 77 Sunset Strip would work today. “I don't want to see old Stuart Bailey,” he told a journalist (Zimbalist Jr. turned 105 in November). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” he added.
Still hoping for a 77 Sunset Strip movie?
In a recent interview, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. said he can't imagine a 77 Sunset Strip reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
