Can you believe it's been 18 years since H2O: Just Add Water first aired?! (18 years, 4 months, 15 days to be exact.)
Why in the world did H2O: Just Add Water end?
When H2O: Just Add Water came to an end after 4 years in April 2010, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Emma Gilbert (Claire Holt), Rikki Chadwick (Cariba Heine) and Cleo Sertori (Phoebe Tonkin). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would a H2O: Just Add Water reunion disappoint people?
H2O: Just Add Water aired from 2006-2010 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Holt said she's not sure if H2O: Just Add Water would work today. “I don't want to see old Emma Gilbert,” she told a journalist (Holt turned 36 in June). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” she added.
Still hoping for a H2O: Just Add Water movie?
In a recent interview, Indiana Evans (who played Bella Hartley between 2009 and 2010) said she can't imagine a H2O: Just Add Water reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
Co-star Phoebe Tonkin has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a H2O: Just Add Water movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”
On the subject of whether there could be a H2O: Just Add Water film, Luke Mitchell stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”
What about a H2O: Just Add Water reboot?
Recasting H2O: Just Add Water for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
Be it in the form of a H2O: Just Add Water reunion, a H2O: Just Add Water movie, or a H2O: Just Add Water reboot, if you had to start filming today, who would you cast in what role?
