Rumors of a Kaboul Kitchen reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Friday (April 3) as reports claimed that Canal+ confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2027.

Why in the world did Kaboul Kitchen end?
When Kaboul Kitchen came to an end after 6 years in March 2017, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Jacky (Gilbert Melki). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.
Would a Kaboul Kitchen reunion disappoint people?
Kaboul Kitchen aired from 2012-2017 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Melki said he's not sure if Kaboul Kitchen would work today. “I don't want to see old Jacky,” he told a journalist (Melki turned 67 in November). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” he added.
Still hoping for a Kaboul Kitchen movie?
In a recent interview, Gilbert Melki said he can't imagine a Kaboul Kitchen reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”
