‘Lovesick’ Reunion 2027 — Is It Happening?

Rumors of a Lovesick reunion had the internet in a frenzy on Friday (March 27) as reports claimed that Netflix confirmed a revival of the popular sitcom for 2027.

Why in the world did Lovesick end?

When Lovesick came to an end after 4 years in January 2018, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Evie Douglas (Antonia Thomas) and Dylan Witter (Johnny Flynn). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.

Would a Lovesick reunion disappoint people?

Lovesick aired from 2014-2018 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Flynn said he's not sure if Lovesick would work today. “I don't want to see old Dylan Witter,” he told a journalist (Flynn turned 43 in March). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” he added.

Still hoping for a Lovesick movie?

In a recent interview, Johnny Flynn said he can't imagine a Lovesick reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Antonia Thomas has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a Lovesick movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

What about a Lovesick reboot?

Recasting Lovesick for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
