In a recent interview, Jake T. Austin (who played Max Russo) said he can't imagine a Wizards of Waverly Place reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Gregg Sulkin (who played Mason Greyback between 2010 and 2012) has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a Wizards of Waverly Place movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

On the subject of whether there could be a Wizards of Waverly Place film, David Henrie stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”
