But Thiessen said she's not sure if Saved by the Bell would work today. “I don't want to see old Kelly Kapowski,” she told a journalist (Thiessen turned 50 in January). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” she added.

Still hoping for a Saved by the Bell movie?

In a recent interview, Mario Lopez said he can't imagine a Saved by the Bell reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Lark Voorhies has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a Saved by the Bell movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

On the subject of whether there could be a Saved by the Bell film, Tiffani Thiessen stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”

What about a Saved by the Bell reboot?

Recasting Saved by the Bell for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
