Can you believe it's been 34 years since Saved by the Bell first aired?! (34 years, 8 months, 4 days to be exact.)

Why in the world did Saved by the Bell end?

When Saved by the Bell came to an end after 4 years in May 1993, million viewers tuned in to say goodbye to Screech (Dustin Diamond), Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley), Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies), A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez), Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen). And since then, they have been itching for a reunion.

Saved by the Bell without Screech?

After the tragic passing of Dustin Diamond in 2021 how are the writers going to handle the absence of Screech. It seems pretty hard to imagine. “The right thing to do for the show, at least at this point, is to have that character pass,” a source close to the production says.

Would a Saved by the Bell reunion disappoint people?

Saved by the Bell aired from 1989-1993 and is considered one of the most influential TV shows ever on pop culture. Although no original episodes have been shot since, it has remained a regular feature on many station's schedules. But Berkley said she's not sure if Saved by the Bell would work today. “I don't want to see old Jessie Spano,” she told a journalist (Berkley turned 51 in July). “Everyone’s going to have different vision of what the character is like, so to have that materialize is going to disappoint most people,” she added.

Still hoping for a Saved by the Bell movie?

In a recent interview, Mark-Paul Gosselaar said he can't imagine a Saved by the Bell reunion hitting the big screen. “I'd rather people go, ‘Oh, please! Please!’ than ‘I can't believe you did that. It was horrible.’”

Co-star Elizabeth Berkley has also previously explained, “It would be terrible to do something and have it not be good,”. “It was so terrific ... If we did a Saved by the Bell movie and it sucked, then it would, you know, blemish it.”

On the subject of whether there could be a Saved by the Bell film, Lark Voorhies stated : “I think it's a bit of a case of ‘the book is better than the movie’.”

What about a Saved by the Bell reboot?

Recasting Saved by the Bell for a modern reboot. Hollywood is known for remaking remakes of films or tv series and the studios might think it would be great to bring the story back with a new set of characters.
