It has been exactly 4 long years since Former manager of the France national football team Michel Hidalgo died in Marseille on March 26, 2020 at the age of 87. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed footballers of his generation.

Today, fans of Michel Hidalgo along with the rest of the sports world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

Born in Leffrinckoucke on March 22, 1933, Michel Hidalgo's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Hidalgo was not just a great footballer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
