It has been exactly 8 long years since Al Jarreau died in Los Angeles on February 12, 2017 at the age of 76. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.
Today, fans of Al Jarreau (After All, We're In This Love Together, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.
Jarreau, a cultural icon
Born in Milwaukee on March 12, 1940, Al Jarreau's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Jarreau was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1984 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘After All’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
It's been 8 years since the tragic loss of Al Jarreau and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Al Jarreau is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
