Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Anna Gavalda, 55, and her partner had split up. Is the author of Hunting and Gathering, Someone I Loved and I Wish Someone Were Waiting for Me Somewhere really single again?

Gavalda spotted alone

A fan spotted Anna Gavalda walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 16, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Anna back on the market?

A rep for Anna Gavalda was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the author was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (March 17), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
