Anouk Aimée died in Paris on June 18, 2024 at the age of 92. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed actresses of her generation.

Fans of Anouk Aimée (A Man and a Woman, Eight and a Half, La Dolce Vita, ...) along with the rest of the film industry have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Aimée, a cultural icon

Born Françoise Sorya Dreyfus in Paris on April 27, 1932, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Aimée was not just a great actress, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1966 she touched the hearts of millions as Anne Gauthier in ‘A Man and a Woman’. Her legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.

Although Anouk Aimée is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
