It has been exactly 23 long years since Anthony Quinn died in Boston on June 3, 2001 at the age of 86. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Quinn, a cultural icon
Born Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca in Chihuahua on April 21, 1915, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Quinn was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1962 he touched the hearts of millions as Auda abu Tayi in ‘Lawrence of Arabia’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
