Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Ashlee Simpson, 40, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her role on the television series Melrose Place 2009 and best known for her album Autobiography really single again?

Simpson spotted alone

A fan spotted Ashlee Simpson walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 15, 2025. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Ashlee back on the market?

A rep for Ashlee Simpson was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer - known for having been romantically involved with Josh Henderson, Gregory Smith, Wilmer Valderrama, Pete Wentz, Tyler Hoechlin, Carson Daly, Ryan Cabrera or Vincent Piazza - was splitting hit the internet Friday (May 16), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
