Is Empress of Pop officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Ayumi Hamasaki, 46, and her partner had split up. Is the Empress of Pop really single again?

Hamasaki spotted alone

A fan spotted Ayumi Hamasaki walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 6, 2025. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Ayumi back on the market?

A rep for Ayumi Hamasaki was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Monday (April 7), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
