It has been exactly 9 long years since B.B. King died in Las Vegas on May 14, 2015 at the age of 89. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed guitarists of his generation.

King, a cultural icon

Born Riley B. King in Itta Bena on September 16, 1925, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. King was not just a great guitarist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1969 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘The Thrill Is Gone’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
