Is the 77-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Bernadette Peters, 77, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Annie or The Jerk really single again?

Peters spotted alone

A fan spotted Bernadette Peters walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 19, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Bernadette back on the market?

A rep for Bernadette Peters was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Steve Martin or Warren Beatty - was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (January 20), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
