Is the 72-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Bess Armstrong, 72, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her role on the television series My So-Called Life really single again?

Armstrong spotted alone

A fan spotted Bess Armstrong walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of May 17, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Bess back on the market?

A rep for Bess Armstrong was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Monday (May 18), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
