Bonnie Tyler died in Faro on July 8, 2026 at the age of 75. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed singers of her generation.

Tyler, a cultural icon
Born Gaynor Hopkins in Swansea on June 8, 1951, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in British history. Tyler was not just a great singer, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1983 she touched the hearts of millions with ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’. Her legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique musical heritage.
Although Bonnie Tyler is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
