Is the 85-year-old singer officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Brigitte Fontaine, 85, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for her album Prohibition or Le goudron, her hit Prohibition or Le goudron really single again?

Fontaine spotted alone

A fan spotted Brigitte Fontaine walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 1, 2025. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Brigitte back on the market?

A rep for Brigitte Fontaine was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Thursday (January 2), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
