Is the 40-year-old actress officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Carey Mulligan, 40, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in The Great Gatsby, Shame, Drive or An Education really single again?

Mulligan spotted alone

A fan spotted Carey Mulligan walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 14, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Carey back on the market?

A rep for Carey Mulligan was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Shia LaBeouf - was splitting hit the internet Sunday (March 15), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
