Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Carla Bruni, 58, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for albums like Comme si de rien n'était or Quelqu'un m'a dit really single again?

Bruni spotted alone

A fan spotted Carla Bruni walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of March 13, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Carla back on the market?

A rep for Carla Bruni was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer - known for having been romantically involved with Eric Clapton or Mick Jagger - was splitting hit the internet Saturday (March 14), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
