Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Cher, 79, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Burlesque or Moonstruck and best known for hit songs like Believe or The Shoop Shoop Song really single again?

Cher spotted alone
A fan spotted Cher walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 8, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”
Is Cher back on the market?
A rep for Cher was not immediately available for comment.
Truth or rumor, when news that the actress - known for having been romantically involved with Paul Michael Glaser, Tom Cruise, Gregg Allman, Val Kilmer, Elvis Presley, Les Dudek, Michael Bolton, Sonny Bono, Warren Beatty, Mark Hudson, Richie Sambora, Gene Simmons, David Geffen or Tommy Lee - was splitting hit the internet Friday (January 9), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
