Is the Pretenders frontman officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Pretenders frontman Chrissie Hynde, 74, and her partner had split up. Is the American singer really single again?

Hynde spotted alone

A fan spotted Chrissie Hynde walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 24, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Chrissie back on the market?

A rep for Chrissie Hynde was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Saturday (April 25), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
