It has been exactly 13 long years since Dave Brubeck died in Norwalk on December 5, 2012 at the age of 91. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed pianists of his generation.

Brubeck, a cultural icon
Born David Warren Brubeck in Concord on December 6, 1920, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Brubeck was not just a great pianist, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
In 1959 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘Take Five’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
It's been 13 years since the tragic loss of Dave Brubeck and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Dave Brubeck is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
