Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Dianne Wiest, 77, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Edward Scissorhands or Hannah and Her Sisters really single again?

Wiest spotted alone

A fan spotted Dianne Wiest walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 10, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Dianne back on the market?

A rep for Dianne Wiest was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Sunday (January 11), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
