Parton, a cultural icon

Born Dolly Rebecca Parton in Sevierville on January 19, 1946, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Parton was not just a great singer, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1980 she touched the hearts of millions with ‘9 to 5’. Her legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique musical heritage.

Although Dolly Parton is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
