Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Dolly Parton, 79, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for hit songs like 9 to 5, I Will Always Love You or Jolene really single again?

Parton spotted alone

A fan spotted Dolly Parton walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of January 9, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Dolly back on the market?

A rep for Dolly Parton was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Saturday (January 10), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
