Remembering Hal David on the 11st Anniversary of his death

It has been exactly 11 long years since ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head’ author Hal David died in Los Angeles on September 1, 2012 at the age of 91. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed songwriters of his generation.

Today, fans of Hal David along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic man he was.

David, a cultural icon

Born in New York on May 25, 1921, Hal David's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. David was not just a great songwriter, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.

It's been 11 years since the tragic loss of Hal David and his personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Hal David is no longer physically here, his presence is more powerful than ever. He left a void that has yet to be filled.
