Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Hanya Yanagihara, 52, and her partner had split up. Is the author of A Little Life really single again?

Yanagihara spotted alone

A fan spotted Hanya Yanagihara walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of August 28, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Hanya back on the market?

A rep for Hanya Yanagihara was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the author was splitting hit the internet Saturday (August 29), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
