It has been exactly 19 long years since Jacques Villeret died in Évreux on January 28, 2005 at the age of 53. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation.

Born in Loches on February 6, 1951, Jacques Villeret's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Villeret was not just a great actor, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
