Remembering Jane Birkin

Jane Birkin died in Paris on July 16, 2023 at the age of 76. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed singers of her generation.

Fans of Jane Birkin (Je t'aime… moi non plus, ...) along with the rest of the music world have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Birkin, a cultural icon

Born in London on December 14, 1946, Jane Birkin's career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in British history. Birkin was not just a great singer, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1969 she touched the hearts of millions with ‘Je t'aime… moi non plus’. Her legacy will continue to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique musical heritage.

Although Jane Birkin is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
