It has been exactly 6 long years since Jean-Pierre Mocky died in Nice on August 8, 2019 at the age of 86. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed directors of his generation.

Born Jean-Paul Adam Mokiejewski in Nice on July 6, 1933, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in French history. Mocky was not just a great director, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.
His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique heritage.
