Break-Up Rumors, Is Jhumpa Lahiri Single Again?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Jhumpa Lahiri, 58, and her partner had split up. Is the author of the Namesake really single again?

Lahiri spotted alone

A fan spotted Jhumpa Lahiri walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 8, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Jhumpa back on the market?

A rep for Jhumpa Lahiri was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the author was splitting hit the internet Thursday (April 9), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
