Is the 75-year-old singer officially back on the market?

Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Joan Armatrading, 75, and her partner had split up. Is the singer best known for hit songs like Drop the Pilot or Love and Affection really single again?

Armatrading spotted alone

A fan spotted Joan Armatrading walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of April 6, 2026. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Joan back on the market?

A rep for Joan Armatrading was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the singer was splitting hit the internet Tuesday (April 7), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
