Are celebrities more likely to divorce or break up? Earlier this week news reports surfaced that Joan Chen, 64, and her partner had split up. Is the actress best known for her roles in Lust, Caution, Twin Peaks or The Last Emperor really single again?

Chen spotted alone

A fan spotted Joan Chen walking alone, probably coming back from picking up her mail at the end of her several mile long driveway, on the afternoon of December 3, 2025. Was she all alone? “Definitely yes,” says the fan, adding that “She was wearing a large sweater and looked really cute!”

Is Joan back on the market?

A rep for Joan Chen was not immediately available for comment.

Truth or rumor, when news that the actress was splitting hit the internet Thursday (December 4), Twitter immediately exploded with pithy commentary. It seems everyone had an opinion on the matter:
