It has been exactly 10 long years since Joan Rivers died in New York on September 4, 2014 at the age of 81. As a number of online tributes attest, she was one of the most acclaimed television hosts of her generation.

Today, fans of Joan Rivers along with the rest of the entertainment world have been remembering the iconic woman she was.

Rivers, a cultural icon

Born Joan Alexandra Molinsky in New York on June 8, 1933, her career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. Rivers was not just a great television host, she was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

Her legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering her unique heritage.

It's been 10 years since the tragic loss of Joan Rivers and her personality still resonate strongly within us all. Although Joan Rivers is no longer physically here, her presence is more powerful than ever. She left a void that has yet to be filled.
