It has been exactly 4 long years since Joe Cocker died in Crawford on December 22, 2014 at the age of 70. As a number of online tributes attest, he was one of the most acclaimed singers of his generation.

Cocker, a cultural icon

Born John Robert Cocker in Sheffield on May 20, 1944, his career spanned an arc over many different eras and tastes in British history. Cocker was not just a great singer, he was an icon, an all-around inspiration to everyone.

In 1968 he touched the hearts of millions with ‘With a Little Help from My Friends’. His legacy continues to grow as new generations of fans are discovering his unique musical heritage.
